<div><p>International Business Machines Corp. researchers have made the world's fastest dynamic memory computer chips, the company said at a research conference in San Francisco.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The experimental chips can retrieve a bit of information in 20 billionths of a second, three times as fast as the current generation of so-called D-RAM chips.D-RAM chips are the most common kind of memory chips in computers. They are more compact and cheaper but also slower than static random access memory chips, known as S-RAMs.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Separately, IBM said it had built an experimental S-RAM chip that can retrieve information in a record 11 billionths of a second....
